SharedRideBG ("we," "us," "the platform") operates a website that connects drivers with empty seats to riders travelling the same intercity route within Bulgaria. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy.
SharedRideBG is operated by MBDEV LLC, registered at [registered address], Bulgaria, EIK (company registration number) [EIK number] — as required for any online service provider under the Bulgarian Electronic Commerce Act.
SharedRideBG is also the data controller for the personal data collected through your account and bookings, and processes it in accordance with Bulgarian and EU data-protection law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
SharedRideBG is a peer-to-peer platform. We do not own, operate, or lease any vehicles, we are not a licensed taxi or transport company, and drivers using the platform are independent individuals, not our employees or agents. Every trip is a private arrangement between a driver and their riders. We are not a party to that arrangement and do not guarantee its safety, timing, or outcome.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You must provide accurate information — your real name, a working email address, and a phone number you control. Verification (email and phone) is required before your first booking, as described in the sign-up flow.
If you offer rides, you confirm that you hold a valid driver's licence for the vehicle class you're offering, that the vehicle is legally registered, insured, and roadworthy under Bulgarian law, and that you will comply with all applicable traffic and transport regulations.
SharedRideBG does not set, show or calculate any price. Travel costs — fuel, tolls and wear on the vehicle — are shared between the driver and the passengers, who agree on them directly, for example in the chat. Sharing costs is not a paid service: SharedRideBG is a carpooling platform, not a licensed taxi or minibus service under the Road Transport Act and Наредба № 34, and a ride must not be offered as paid commercial transport. SharedRideBG takes no commission.
SharedRideBG does not verify whether your insurance policy is adequate for carrying paying passengers — a standard motor liability ("гражданска отговорност") policy may not have been priced with that in mind. Checking this with your insurer before offering cost-sharing rides is your own responsibility.
When you book a seat, you're entering a direct agreement with the driver for that trip. Arrive on time, communicate changes promptly, and pay the agreed amount directly to the driver unless the app states otherwise for a specific trip.
SharedRideBG handles no payments between members. Any sharing of travel costs is agreed and settled directly between the driver and the passengers, outside the platform. If in-app payment is introduced in the future, additional payment terms will apply and you'll be notified before they take effect.
You agree not to harass, discriminate against, or endanger other users; not to misrepresent your identity, vehicle, or trip details; and to communicate respectfully. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, depending on severity.
Ratings and reviews must reflect an actual completed trip. Fake, retaliatory, or fraudulent ratings may be removed and may result in account suspension.
Either party may cancel a booked trip. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect your ability to use the platform and are visible, in aggregate, to other users as part of your trip history.
Because a booking is for transport on a specific date and time, it is exempt from the standard EU/Bulgarian 14-day distance-contract right of withdrawal (Consumer Protection Act Art. 57; EU Consumer Rights Directive Art. 16(l)). Cancelling a booking is governed by this section, not by a general right of withdrawal.
SharedRideBG does not supervise trips, vet vehicles in person, or guarantee any user's identity beyond the email/phone verification described in our onboarding flow. You are responsible for your own safety decisions: confirming the driver, vehicle, and licence plate before boarding; sharing your trip details with someone you trust; and trusting your judgment if something feels wrong. Report safety concerns to us immediately via the contact page.
No transporting goods or passengers in violation of Bulgarian law; no exceeding your vehicle's legal seating capacity; no using the platform for solicitation unrelated to carpooling; no creating multiple or fake accounts.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, poses a safety risk to other users, or is used fraudulently. You may close your account at any time from your profile.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SharedRideBG is not liable for any loss, injury, delay, or damage arising from a trip arranged through the platform, including but not limited to accidents, missed connections, or disputes between users. The platform is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria. Any dispute not resolved directly between users will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Bulgarian courts.
If you're a consumer based elsewhere in the EU, choosing Bulgarian law as the governing law does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your own country of residence, under the EU Rome I Regulation.
If you're an EU consumer, you can also submit a complaint through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be flagged in the app.
